Purgatorio 27.139–142

Virgil to Dante at the top of the stair

Non aspettar mio dir più né mio cenno;

libero, dritto e sano è tuo arbitrio,

e fallo fora non fare a suo senno:

per ch’io te sovra te corono e mitrio.

Await no more my word or my sign;

free, upright, and sound is your will,

and it would be wrong not to act by its judgment:

therefore I crown and mitre you over yourself.
