Purgatorio 19.22–24

The Siren singing in Dante’s dream

Io volsi Ulisse del suo cammin vago

al canto mio; e qual meco s’ausa,

rado sen parte; sì tutto l’appago!

I turned Ulysses from his wandering way

to my song; and whoever grows used to me

rarely departs, so wholly I satisfy him!
