Aeneid 6.687–689

Anchises welcoming Aeneas in Elysium

Venisti tandem, tuaque exspectata parenti

vicit iter durum pietas? Datur ora tueri,

nate, tua, et notas audire et reddere voces?

mastered the hard road? Am I granted to look on your face,

my son, and to hear and answer your familiar voice?
